Kohler, the global leader in kitchen and bath design, has teamed up with renowned photographer Douglas Friedman to launch their most advanced smart toilet, the KOHLER Numi 2.0 Honed Black Smart Toilet, and to pay homage to an iconic 1980s print ad. This exciting project culminated in Friedman’s first-ever TV ad, filmed in Marfa, Texas, a mecca for minimalism started by artist Donald Judd.
Friedman captures the essence of Marfa’s minimalist art scene by beautifully framing an endless road with the Numi 2.0, showcasing the smart toilet’s ingenuity, innovation, movement, and lighting. This collaboration with a celebrated artist underscores Kohler’s passion for forward-thinking innovations and honors their 150th anniversary.
The Numi 2.0 features ambient colored lighting, automatic open/close seat and lid, a built-in speaker system, and personalized settings that allow users to control preferences for bidet functions and comfort. Kohler’s Chief Brand Officer, Samie Barr, emphasizes their view of their products as pieces of art, and their approach to marketing reflects that sensibility.
