Terlingua school district invites veterans to Veterans Day breakfast Nov. 11

Terlingua Common School District is inviting local military veterans and their guests to a Veterans Day breakfast Wednesday, Nov. 11, as students and staff gather to recognize those who have served in the U.S. armed forces.

The event will begin at 8:15 a.m. and feature a brief presentation honoring veterans, followed by breakfast prepared and served by the school’s senior class.

The district announced the event through the Big Bend High School-Paisanos Facebook page, encouraging community members to share the invitation with veterans throughout the Terlingua area.

“Terlingua CSD would like to invite the veterans of our community to breakfast on Veterans Day,” the district said in its announcement. “Please share with the veterans you know so we may welcome them to our school and thank them for their service to our nation.”

The annual Veterans Day observance, held each Nov. 11, honors all Americans who have served in the military, both during wartime and in peacetime.

For Terlingua’s small, rural school community, the breakfast offers students an opportunity to personally thank veterans for their service while bringing together residents from across the Big Bend region.

Veterans and their guests are welcome to attend the Nov. 11 celebration, which begins at 8:15 a.m. at Terlingua CSD.
