Black Bear Restaurant at Indian Lodge announces Thanksgiving Day brunch

The Black Bear Restaurant at Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains State Park will serve a traditional Thanksgiving Day brunch Thursday, Nov. 26, offering visitors and area residents a holiday meal in one of West Texas’ most scenic state parks.

The restaurant announced that Thanksgiving service will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until food sells out. The meal will cost $21 for adults and $14 for children.

The Thanksgiving menu features turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, green bean casserole and rolls.

The restaurant will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations indicated in the announcement. Guests are encouraged to arrive early because service will end when the available food is sold out.

Located inside Indian Lodge, the historic hotel operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Black Bear Restaurant offers dining amid the rugged mountain scenery of Jeff Davis County.

Indian Lodge is a distinctive West Texas landmark, originally constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal programs. Its adobe architecture reflects the region’s Southwestern heritage.

The Thanksgiving brunch provides an opportunity for travelers, park visitors and local families to enjoy a traditional holiday meal without preparing one at home.

The restaurant is located at 16453 Park Road 3, inside Davis Mountains State Park near Fort Davis.
