Ojinaga mayor to deliver second annual report, host public celebration today

Ojinaga Mayor Lucy Marrufo Acosta will present her second annual government report Wednesday, followed by a public celebration featuring dinner, live music and dancing.

The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 9 in Ojinaga’s historic center along Calle Allende, according to an announcement from the municipal government.

Following the report, the city will host a verbena popular, or community street celebration, featuring a performance by Conjunto 4 Norte. Dinner will also be provided as part of the festivities.

Marrufo is serving as municipal president for the 2024-2027 term. The annual report provides an accounting of the municipal administration’s work and accomplishments during the preceding year.

Ojinaga sits directly across the U.S.-Mexico border from Presidio, Texas, and serves as the municipal seat of the surrounding municipality in Chihuahua state.
