The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team arrested a man Thursday morning on felony family violence charges at a ranch south of Marathon.
Deputies executed a felony arrest warrant for Barret Whitworth, according to the sheriff’s office.
Whitworth was charged with assault of a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation and interference with an emergency request for assistance.
The sheriff’s office did not release additional details about the allegations or the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
Whitworth was booked into the Brewster County Jail.
The charges are accusations. Whitworth is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
