Ojinaga closes soccer field, running track for renovations

The city of Ojinaga has temporarily closed the soccer field and running track at its municipal sports complex as crews carry out renovation work.

The municipal government announced the closure in a public notice, saying both facilities will remain closed to the public while construction is underway.

Officials warned residents that heavy machinery will be operating in the area and urged people to use extreme caution around the construction zone.

The announcement did not specify the scope of the renovations, how much the project will cost or when the facilities are expected to reopen.

The work is part of ongoing municipal projects under Mayor Lucy Marrufo’s 2024-2027 administration.

City officials thanked residents for their understanding while the improvements are completed.
