Presidio officials will hold a community listening session Tuesday to document how long waits at the Presidio-Ojinaga port of entry are affecting local businesses, families and the city’s economy.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 28 at the Presidio Municipal Development District office, 608 W. O’Reilly St., Suite D.
Presidio Mayor John Ferguson will preside over the session, which is being organized by PMDD Executive Director John Kennedy.
Local business owners and residents are invited to describe how delays at the international bridge have affected commerce, work schedules, family travel and daily routines.
The PMDD plans to compile the concerns raised during the meeting and present them to U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s regional leadership in El Paso.
Organizers said the goal is to demonstrate the economic importance of efficient movement between Presidio and Ojinaga, Chihuahua, and encourage improvements that support binational trade and the local economy.
The community session is being promoted under the message, “Let’s Keep Presidio Moving.”
