U.S. Border Patrol agents and other law enforcement officers apprehended 14 migrants in two consecutive encounters near Sanderson, authorities said Sunday.
The groups included five minors and three people suspected of serving as foot guides, according to the Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector. Authorities did not release the migrants’ nationalities, ages or information about possible criminal charges.
Agents assigned to the Sanderson Station conducted the operations with assistance from the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Air and Marine Operations.
A photograph released by Border Patrol showed officers, several vehicles and a helicopter at the scene in a remote desert area.
Officials did not specify exactly where or when the apprehensions occurred.
