Illegal Dumping Reported Along Limpia Creek, Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help

The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance after receiving reports of illegal dumping along Painted Trees Road, including debris allegedly discarded directly into Limpia Creek.

According to a social media post published by the sheriff’s office, authorities have received multiple reports of trash and other materials being dumped in the area. Officials said the dumping poses potential risks to waterways, wildlife and the surrounding environment.

The sheriff’s office is seeking information that could help identify those responsible. Investigators are asking residents who may have witnessed suspicious activity or who have photographs or video related to the incident to come forward.

“Even small details may help with our investigation,” the agency said in its public appeal.

Illegal dumping into creeks and waterways is prohibited under state law and can result in environmental damage, including water contamination and harm to local ecosystems.

The sheriff’s office thanked community members for their assistance and encouraged residents to report illegal dumping and other environmental violations.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office.

The post included photographs appearing to show discarded household debris and refuse near the creek. Authorities did not immediately release information about potential suspects or when the dumping may have occurred.
