American Legion to host Fourth of July celebration in Alpine

The community is invited to celebrate Independence Day at American Legion Big Bend Post 79, where organizers are planning a full day of food, live music and patriotic festivities on July 4.

According to promotional materials, lunch plates will be available beginning at noon, followed by live entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening. DJ Armando is scheduled to perform from noon to 5 p.m., followed by A Few Too Many Band from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. DJ Julian will close out the celebration from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

The event is advertised as free to attend for guests 21 and older. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue as part of the Independence Day celebration.

Promotions for the event describe it as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration and one of several Fourth of July week activities planned at the Alpine veterans organization. Additional entertainment throughout the week includes karaoke and DJ performances leading up to Independence Day.
