The City of Pecos will celebrate Independence Day with its third annual Fourth of July Festival on Saturday, July 4, featuring live entertainment, family activities, tournaments, vendors and a fireworks display.

The event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Maxey Park, located on Cothrun Street in Pecos. Admission is free.

Festival organizers say a fireworks show is planned for approximately 9:30 p.m., serving as the evening’s grand finale.

Activities planned throughout the event include a cornhole tournament, volleyball tournament, cantaloupe eating contest, dunking booth and access to the park’s splash pad. Vendors also are expected to be on site.

Live music will be part of the festivities, including a performance by Texas country artist Caleb Lee Hutchinson. DJ Tiny also is scheduled to provide entertainment during the event.

The annual celebration is hosted with support from local organizations and sponsors, including the City of Pecos, Reeves County and other community partners.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring family and friends for an evening of food, entertainment and patriotic celebration as Pecos marks the Fourth of July holiday.
