A new $3.5 million community center is planned for Iraan, according to a state construction filing submitted for a project in Pecos County.
The project, listed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, calls for construction of a new 9,000-square-foot, single-story community center at 106 W. Sixth St. in Iraan.
Construction is expected to begin July 6, with completion projected by Aug. 30, 2027, according to the filing.
The planned facility will feature a hybrid steel-frame and wood-frame structure and is identified as the “Iraan Community Center” in project documents.
The filing states the project involves public funds, public land or federally funded roadway-related funding, though additional details about the source of funding or intended programming for the facility were not immediately available.
Iraan is located in northern Pecos County near the border with Reagan County. The new center is expected to provide expanded community gathering space for residents in the area.
