A two-day Stockmen’s Gathering is scheduled for May 2–3 at the Ward County Arena in Monahans, featuring demonstrations, competitions and community events centered on ranching traditions.
The May 2 program includes a stockdog demonstration presented by Kyle Dillard, a “Buckaroo vs. Cowpuncher” showcase, and a 100-calf branding demonstration led by cowboys from Wyoming, Texas. Attendees can also watch tree roping competitions for prizes, mini horse and mule wagon races, and a colt-starting face-off. A calf fry and chili cookoff are also planned.
Activities continue May 3 with events presented in part by Rocking F Auction Group, including a horse sale tied to the weekend’s programming.
The gathering highlights working ranch skills and western heritage, bringing together participants and spectators for a mix of education, competition and entertainment.
