A Fort Stockton High School student has earned multiple advanced welding certifications, highlighting the continued success of the district’s career and technical education programs.
Fort Stockton ISD announced that its Ag mechanics and welding program has produced more than 50 welding certifications since January. Among those achievements, student Joaquin Aguirre stood out for completing some of the program’s most advanced tests.
Aguirre successfully passed his bend test for an open root weld using a 6010 root and 7018 fill in a 3G vertical position. He also passed a 4F overhead fillet weld test, both considered high-level certifications in welding training.
District officials said Aguirre’s accomplishments set a strong example for other students in the program and reflect the hands-on skills being developed through Fort Stockton ISD’s workforce training initiatives.
The district praised Aguirre for his dedication and described him as an asset to the program as it continues to prepare students for careers in skilled trades.
