The Saturday Community Market in the Garden is open weekly from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Garden in the Ghost Town, offering a mix of locally produced goods, artisan crafts and community services.
Organizers say the market features a rotating lineup of vendors selling items such as fresh eggs, sourdough bread, handcrafted textiles, jewelry, skincare products, essential oil fragrances, and goods made from reclaimed materials. Vintage and upcycled items, along with flea market offerings, are also welcome as part of the market’s focus on reuse and sustainability.
In addition to shopping, visitors can access the Big Bend Mobile Library, browse a free community “porch” exchange and seek basic tech assistance from “Dr. Gigabyte,” who is available to help with computer-related questions.
Vendor participation is encouraged, with a $10 donation requested for setup to support the Community Garden. Fees are waived on the first Saturday of each month to welcome new vendors and reward regular participants.
Prepared food vendors must display a current food handling license, organizers said.
Market officials also ask attendees to keep dogs leashed to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
For more information, organizers encourage visitors to stop by the market or call or text 432-213-1863.
