The City of Alpine is seeking applicants for an Animal Services Officer I position, according to a recent hiring announcement from the city’s animal services department.
The position involves a range of duties, including patrolling and responding to service calls, conducting investigations, assisting with shelter maintenance and providing daily care for animals. The role also includes maintaining logs and records, supporting adoption events and handling other assigned responsibilities.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED, along with a valid Texas driver’s license. Candidates will be required to pass a drug test and background check and demonstrate the ability to work professionally with others.
The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and a willingness to handle a variety of animal species. Regular attendance is required, and applicants must be available to work occasional weekends, holidays and after-hours calls.
