Organizers of the Smoke in the Mountains BBQ & Ribeye Shootout have announced this year’s live music lineup, adding a weekend of performances and a street dance to the popular June event in Jeff Davis County.
The three-day festival is scheduled for June 4–6 at the Jeff Davis County Courthouse and surrounding areas in Fort Davis, featuring barbecue competition, vendors, and community activities alongside live entertainment.
Live music kicks off Friday evening with Lawson Knight performing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. The performance coincides with a full day of events, including vendor booths, a silent auction, and multiple cooking competitions and turn-ins.
On Saturday night, the event transitions to a street dance on Court Street, headlined by Tommy Tarango beginning at 8 p.m. The dance follows the day’s awards ceremony, which is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the courthouse lawn.
In addition to the music lineup, the weekend includes a full slate of activities such as a cornhole tournament, food and drink service, and continued barbecue competition categories including brisket, ribs, chicken, and cabrito.
Vendors will be open throughout both Friday and Saturday, with extended hours on Saturday running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Smoke in the Mountains BBQ & Ribeye Shootout draws competitors and visitors from across the region each year, combining West Texas barbecue tradition with live entertainment and community festivities in the heart of Fort Davis.
