Dallas event draws crowd to discuss proposed Big Bend border wall

Advocates and residents gathered in Dallas this week to learn about a proposed border wall project in the Big Bend region and discuss efforts to oppose it, organizers said.

The event, hosted in part by the Big Bend Conservation Alliance, drew attendees to a venue operated by The Wild Detectives, where speakers outlined concerns about the potential environmental and community impacts of border infrastructure in Far West Texas.

Organizers thanked participants for their turnout and engagement, emphasizing solidarity with residents living along the U.S.-Mexico border. They said public awareness and coordinated advocacy are key as developments related to the project continue to evolve.

The event was organized with support from the Texas Rivers Protection Association and other partners. Organizers also credited board member A.K. Dupree for helping coordinate the gathering, along with sponsors including Labodega Oak Cliff and Southwest Review.
