Jeff Davis County commissioners are set to consider approving the installation of a new waymarker at the historic county jail during their April 14 meeting.
The proposal, brought forward by the Jeff Davis County Historical Commission, calls for placing the waymarker in front of the jail’s fence. The item is listed for discussion and possible action.
The jail already has an existing historical marker plaque, and the proposed waymarker would represent a different type of signage, typically used to provide additional context or guide visitors to historic sites.
Commissioners are expected to review the proposal and determine whether to approve the installation.
