Spicewood, a popular upscale dining destination in Alpine, will discontinue its regular restaurant service as it transitions to a new business model focused on catering and private events.
In a message shared with customers, the Parker family said the restaurant is “moving in a new direction” and will no longer operate as a full-service restaurant. Instead, the business will continue offering private parties and catering services for groups of all sizes.
The announcement marks a significant change for the Alpine dining scene, where Spicewood has been known for its elevated atmosphere and community following.
Despite the shift, the Parker family said the bar will remain open Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering light appetizers and a continued gathering space for patrons.
“We are deeply grateful for the love, loyalty, and support our community has shown us throughout the years,” the family said in the statement. “Thank you for being such an important part of the Spicewood family.”
The change reflects a broader transition rather than a full closure, with the business maintaining a presence in Alpine through events, catering and limited bar service.
