Residents, families and community groups are invited to take part in the 2026 Trash-Off, a one-day cleanup event aimed at keeping Fort Stockton clean and beautiful.
The event, organized by Keep Historic Fort Stockton Beautiful in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation, is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to register at the Fort Stockton Convention Center, 2181 SW Interstate 10 Frontage Road.
The Trash-Off is part of the statewide “Don’t Mess with Texas” initiative and is described as the largest one-day cleanup effort in Texas. Organizers say the event is open to everyone, including individuals, families, students, businesses and community organizations.
Participants will work together to remove litter and improve local spaces while building community pride. Volunteers will also receive perks, including Kona Ice and a free meal served from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Organizers encourage participants to register in advance using the event’s QR code and to consider bringing friends or forming teams.
Officials say the event is an opportunity for residents to make a visible impact and demonstrate Fort Stockton’s commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming community.
