Students from Alpine High School are heading to Austin to compete in the state History Fair, marking a significant academic achievement for the campus and community.
Alpine Independent School District officials said the group of scholars earned the opportunity to advance after strong performances at earlier levels of competition. The students departed this week, receiving a send-off from classmates, staff and supporters.
“Our scholars are Austin-bound and ready to represent Alpine on the biggest stage,” the district said in a social media post, praising the students’ work and dedication leading up to the event.
The History Fair competition allows students to present research projects across a variety of formats, including exhibits, performances and papers, with topics rooted in historical analysis and interpretation.
District leaders encouraged the team to showcase their work and represent Alpine with pride as they compete against top students from across Texas.
The state contest will take place in Austin, where participants will be judged on historical accuracy, research depth and presentation.
