Alpine Animal Services was recognized at a recent City Council meeting in observance of National Animal Control Appreciation Week, according to a post from the Alpine Police Department.
The annual recognition highlights the work of animal control officers and staff who handle a range of responsibilities, including public safety, animal welfare and community education. National Animal Control Appreciation Week is observed each year during the second full week of April. In 2026, it runs from April 12 to April 18.
City officials acknowledged the contributions of Alpine Animal Services and encouraged residents to learn more about the role animal control plays in the community.
The recognition serves as a reminder of the often behind-the-scenes work performed by animal services personnel, from responding to calls and enforcing local ordinances to caring for animals and promoting responsible pet ownership.
City leaders expressed appreciation for the department’s efforts and thanked staff for their service to the Alpine community.
