An owl walk has been added to this year’s Earth Day and Dark Skies Celebration in Alpine, organizers announced.
The guided walk will be led by Borderlands Research Institute scientists Dr. Maureen Frank and Dr. Alejandro Chavez at Kokernot Lodge on Saturday, April 18, beginning at 9 p.m.
Participants are required to register in advance to attend the event, and space is limited. Organizers said the walk is part of expanded programming for the annual celebration, which highlights the region’s natural environment and dark sky preservation efforts.
