A one-day summer camp focused on frontier history and hands-on activities is scheduled for June 16 at Historic Fort Stockton.
The “Forts and Frontier Summer Day Camp,” hosted in partnership with the Texas Historical Commission, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the site located at 301 E. Fourth St.
The camp is open to children ages 9 to 17, with a cost of $10 per participant. Organizers say the program will include reenactors, games and educational activities designed to teach participants about life on the Texas frontier.
Registration is open, and those interested can sign up by calling 432-366-2167.
The event is part of a broader series of summer camps held at historic sites across Texas aimed at engaging youth with the state’s history through interactive experiences.
