The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Big Bend, will host a community event later this month in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The “Siren Sound Off” event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Fort Davis Fire Station. The event will feature participation from local and regional first responders, with emergency vehicles, lights and sirens on display, along with family-friendly activities.
Organizers say the event is intended to raise awareness about child abuse prevention while bringing the community together in a supportive environment.
Following the siren demonstration, a community hot dog picnic will be held at the Fort Davis Fire Department.
The event is free and open to the public.
