A free SKYWARN weather safety and preparedness program hosted by the National Weather Service Midland/Odessa office will be held Wednesday evening in Presidio.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Presidio LRF Middle School Library, located at 1515 Highland St. It is open to all ages.
Attendees will learn about severe weather in West Texas, including how storms develop, how to stay safe during hazardous conditions and how volunteers can assist with reporting weather through the SKYWARN program.
The program is part of the National Weather Service’s outreach efforts to improve public awareness and preparedness ahead of severe weather season.
