Authorities said a routine traffic stop resulted in the recovery of two stolen vehicles, the arrest of a driver and the seizure of a firearm.
At approximately 10 a.m. Thursday, an officer stopped a white pickup truck that was towing another vehicle. During the investigation, officers determined that both the pickup and the towed vehicle had been reported stolen.
The driver was taken into custody without incident. Both vehicles were recovered.
During an inventory of the vehicles, officers located and seized a handgun, authorities said.
Officials credited partner agencies for assisting in the case, including Homeland Security Investigations, the local Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Border Patrol.
Authorities said the collaboration helped support ongoing efforts to protect the community.
