Students from Presidio Independent School District recently traveled to Galveston to attend the Women in Industry Conference, an event designed to introduce students to career opportunities across a range of skilled trades and technical fields.
During the conference, Presidio ISD students connected with professionals and industry sponsors while learning about training programs and career pathways in high-demand sectors. Sessions highlighted careers in fields such as electrical work, welding, pipefitting, rigging and industrial operations.
Students also participated in networking opportunities and interactive sessions aimed at encouraging young women to explore careers traditionally underrepresented by women. Speakers shared their experiences working in industry roles and discussed the skills and training required to succeed in those professions.
School officials said the experience provided students with valuable information and inspiration as they begin considering future career paths.
Presidio ISD said it was proud of the students for taking advantage of the opportunity to learn from industry professionals and explore possibilities for rewarding careers.
