Residents of Sanderson are invited to participate in a community cleanup and beautification effort scheduled for the morning of March 21.
The Sanderson Community Clean Up will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are asked to meet at the “Welcome to Sanderson” sign at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and U.S. Highway 285.
Organizers say the event is the first in what they hope will be a series of community beautification days aimed at improving public spaces around the town.
Participants are encouraged to bring yard tools such as shovels, rakes, chainsaws and trimmers. Terrell County will provide burn and dump trailers for collected debris.
Volunteers are also asked to wear gloves, jeans or thick pants, closed-toe shoes and sunscreen while working.
Later that evening, the community is invited to gather at 7 p.m. at the Desert Air Motel for a border forum and a screening of the film “River & the Wall.”
