Residents are invited to relax, unwind and check in on their mental well-being during a creative community event scheduled this week in Van Horn.
PRIDES Rural will host “Wellness Wednesday,” a mental health check-in and canvas painting activity, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. March 11 at 1801 W. Broadway St., Suite 105.
The event is designed to provide a calm and supportive space where participants can de-stress through art while learning about mental health resources.
According to organizers, attendees can expect an open and supportive check-in, a stress-relief and grounding activity, and information about mental health resources and tips. Participants will also receive self-care packets and refreshments.
All painting supplies, including canvases and paints, will be provided. Organizers say the event aims to offer a judgment-free environment where community members can take time for themselves and “add some color to their day.”
The event is presented by PRIDES Rural and supported by Aliviane, a nonprofit organization that provides behavioral health services.
Organizers say participants only need to bring themselves, with all materials and supplies provided at the event.
