Marfa Live Arts and Marfa Independent School District will present the 15th annual One Act Plays on Wednesday, March 4, featuring original works written by Marfa High School students and performed by local actors.
The free performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Crowley Theater.
This year’s program includes four plays: “Chasing Scrubs” by Itzel Urrutia, “The Quiet After” by Christopher Huerta, “Tornado Warning” by Ora Webb and “What Moves in the Dark” by Seth Nuñez.
Organizers say the annual event highlights student creativity while giving young playwrights the opportunity to see their work brought to life on stage by experienced performers. The collaboration between Marfa Live Arts and Marfa ISD has become a longstanding community tradition that showcases local talent and supports arts education.
The Crowley Theater is located in downtown Marfa. Admission is free and open to the public.
Artwork for this year’s promotional materials was created by Zoey Salgado.
