The popular Hurt’s Donut Co., based in El Paso, is bringing its traveling Emergency Donut Vehicle to Marfa this Friday, Feb. 27, offering residents a chance to pick up oversized specialty donuts and baked goods.
The donut truck will be set up beginning at 11 a.m. in the Lowe’s Market parking lot at 717 W. San Antonio St. and will remain open until items sell out.
According to the company, the truck will arrive fully stocked with a wide selection of treats, including double-stuffed Long Johns, maple bacon bars, massive fritters, and dozens of its most popular donuts. Customers can also choose from six varieties of oversized cinnamon rolls, with flavors such as strawberry cheesecake, caramel apple pie, cherry cheesecake, blueberry, and lemon.
In addition to donuts, the menu will feature jumbo chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cream pies, fudge rounds, and chocolate-covered strawberry donuts.
Gluten-free and dairy-free items will be available by pre-order only. Customers needing allergy-friendly options must text orders to 915-222-9222 before 3 p.m. Thursday so products can be prepared separately.
The business accepts cash and card payments.
Because some specialty items will be limited, organizers encourage customers to arrive early. The company also noted that the amount of product brought to Marfa will depend partly on community engagement with the event announcement on social media.
Hurt’s Donut has gained a following across the region for its large, creative donut varieties and traveling pop-up events throughout West Texas and southern New Mexico.
