Three Arrested in Ojinaga Operation Involving Weapons and Tactical Gear

State police arrested two men and a woman this week after seizing firearms, ammunition, tactical equipment and suspected marijuana during a security operation in the city, authorities said.

The arrests took place Feb. 11 in the Flor del Desierto neighborhood, where officers were conducting routine patrols as part of an ongoing surveillance and intelligence effort. Police reported that three individuals were observed standing near a Ford F-150 pickup and a motorcycle while carrying visible firearms.

Officers moved in and detained the suspects, identified as Sarahí G.R., Álvaro Ángel S.S. and Julián R.R.

During a search, authorities seized two handguns, one long gun, nine magazines and 527 rounds of ammunition of various calibers. Police also recovered tactical equipment, including a rifle carrier, holsters, leg rig, gear belts and a ballistic helmet.

In addition, officers found a plastic package containing marijuana, officials said.

The suspects, along with the vehicles and seized items, were turned over to the Public Ministry for further investigation and possible prosecution.

State authorities said the operation was the result of prior investigative work carried out in coordination with the C7-IA Command Center, focused on identifying high-priority targets. The same effort had previously led to the arrest of two other individuals following a pursuit in the area.

Officials said investigations are ongoing.
