Lucy Marrufo, mayor of Ojinaga, joined members of the Asociación Ganadera Local de Ojinaga this week for the organization’s Annual Ordinary Assembly, where a new governing board was formally sworn in for the 2026–2028 term.
During the gathering, livestock producers and community leaders came together to review the association’s work, strengthen collaboration, and reaffirm their commitment to the region’s ranching traditions. The ceremony marked the official installation of the new leadership team, which will guide the organization over the next two years.
Marrufo’s presence highlighted the municipal government’s continued support for the local ranching sector, a key pillar of Ojinaga’s economy and cultural heritage. Officials emphasized the importance of unity, shared vision, and cooperation between producers and local authorities to address challenges facing the industry.
Organizers said the event reflected the strength and organization of the livestock community, noting that solidarity among members remains essential for promoting sustainable development and preserving long-standing ranching practices.
With new leadership in place, the association is expected to focus on strengthening services for ranchers, improving coordination with regional partners, and continuing to advocate for the interests of local producers.
Community leaders described the assembly as a positive step forward for Ojinaga’s livestock sector, reinforcing its role as a vital contributor to the region’s social and economic life.
