Davis Mountains State Park has announced the addition of two new team members, strengthening operations and visitor services at one of Far West Texas’ most popular outdoor destinations.
Park officials recently introduced Yvonne Lujan as the new office manager and Tim Ford as the Indian Lodge superintendent, highlighting their experience and commitment to serving guests and the community.
Lujan, who grew up in nearby Marfa, brings years of managerial experience to her new role. As office manager, she oversees purchasing, budgeting, and front office operations while serving as one of the park’s primary points of contact for visitors and staff. Park administrators praised her welcoming personality and strong organizational skills, noting that she plays a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly.
“Yvonne’s local knowledge and professional background make her an important asset to our team,” park officials said in a statement. “She helps ensure our guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.”
Ford joins the park as superintendent of the historic Indian Lodge, a nearly 90-year-old Civilian Conservation Corps–built structure that remains a centerpiece of the park. He relocated from Mineral Wells, where he previously served as head of maintenance at the Crazy Water Hotel.
With extensive experience in facility management, Ford is expected to play a major role in maintaining the lodge, improving occupancy, and enhancing customer service. Park leaders said his background in maintenance and operations is especially valuable in preserving the aging but beloved building.
“Having a superintendent with strong technical and leadership skills is a huge benefit for Indian Lodge,” officials said. “Tim’s experience will help ensure the lodge continues to serve visitors for generations to come.”
Both appointments reflect the park’s ongoing efforts to improve visitor experiences while maintaining high standards of stewardship and hospitality. Officials encouraged guests to greet the new staff members during their next visit and welcomed them as part of the growing park family.
Davis Mountains State Park is operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and attracts thousands of visitors each year for its mountain scenery, historic lodge, hiking trails, and dark-sky stargazing opportunities.
With new leadership in key roles, park officials said they are confident the park is well-positioned to continue serving residents and travelers from across the region and beyond
