TxDOT to Host Binational Border Transportation Meeting in Presidio

The Texas Department of Transportation will host a Binational Working Group meeting next week as part of its ongoing Texas-Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan update.

The public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Central Time at Benito Hall at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church in Presidio.

According to TxDOT, the meeting will bring together stakeholders from both sides of the border, including federal, state, regional, and private-sector representatives. The goal is to gather input and coordinate planning efforts related to transportation infrastructure along the Texas-Mexico border.

Officials said the session will focus on regional transportation needs, multimodal connectivity, long-term planning goals, and economic factors affecting border communities. The information collected will be used to help guide future transportation projects, policies, and investment priorities.

The meeting is part of a broader effort to update the Texas-Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan, which outlines strategies for improving cross-border mobility, trade routes, and travel efficiency.

TxDOT is encouraging local residents, business owners, and community leaders to participate, emphasizing that public input plays a key role in shaping future infrastructure decisions.

“Your experience and input are essential to this effort,” the agency said in its announcement. “Stakeholder feedback will directly inform the identification of transportation needs and help reflect regional priorities.”

Participants are asked to confirm their attendance in advance through an RSVP process. Questions regarding the meeting and the master plan update may be directed to TxDOT representatives listed in the announcement.

The Presidio meeting is one of several being held along the Texas-Mexico border as part of the statewide planning initiative.
