U.S. Highway 90 west of Marfa remained closed as of Thursday due to icy and dangerous road conditions, according to the Presidio County Sheriff’s Office.
In an update posted on social media, officials said the roadway will stay shut down “until further notice” following multiple weather-related accidents reported Wednesday on stretches of U.S. 90 both west and east of Marfa.
A single-vehicle rollover was reported east of Marfa Wednesday afternoon. Officials said no serious injuries were reported. While U.S. 90 east of Marfa is open, the sheriff’s office urged drivers to use extreme caution.
“Roads are still ICY and dangerous,” the sheriff’s office said in the alert.
Authorities said additional information will be released as updates are received.
