Museum of the Big Bend nominated again for USA Today 10Best travel award

The Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University has been nominated for the third straight year in USA Today’s 2026 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards.

The museum placed first in 2024 and seventh in 2025.

According to a USA Today press release, an expert panel selected the Museum of the Big Bend as a contender for Best Smalltown Museum, a new category in the annual contest.

Voting is open for four weeks at https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/best-small-town-museum/. Voters can cast one vote per day for the duration of the contest.

Voting ends Monday, Feb. 9, and the winner will be announced Wednesday, Feb. 18 on 10Best.

The Museum of the Big Bend has previously received a Top Western Museum award from True West magazine.
