The West Texas Regional Chili Cook-Off Championship Weekend is scheduled for Jan. 23–25 at Terlingua Ghost Town.
The three-day event will take place at the Ghost Town Hotel, home to the High Sierra Bar & Grill, and will include competitive chili cook-offs, live music and vendors. The event is sanctioned by the Chili Appreciation Society International.
Activities begin Friday, Jan. 23, with chili turn-in at 3:30 p.m., followed by a cooks party after announcements. The entry fee for Friday’s competition is $25.
Saturday’s competition is set for Jan. 24, with chili turn-in scheduled for 1 p.m. The entry fee is $35, and first place will receive a bronze warrior statue.
Events conclude Sunday, Jan. 25, with chili turn-in at noon. The entry fee for Sunday is $25. Dry camping will be available, and a steak-off is planned, with the time to be announced.
