Preservation Texas will host the 2026 West Texas Regional Preservation Summit in downtown El Paso, January 29–30, bringing together professionals, advocates, and volunteers to explore historic preservation throughout Far West Texas.
Sessions will include “Preservation 101,” funding incentives, planning strategies, and regional case studies aimed at helping communities protect and celebrate their heritage. The event begins Thursday evening with a networking reception at the newly opened West Texas Heritage Center at 201 E. San Antonio Avenue. An optional hard hat tour of the historic Kress Building is also offered Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
On Friday, the full-day summit continues with panels, presentations, and group discussions at the El Paso Visitor Information Center, located at 1 Civic Center Plaza.
