Ojinaga to Host Community Rosca de Reyes Celebration on January 6

The City of Ojinaga will host a community celebration of Rosca de Reyes on January 6, inviting families to gather for one of Mexico’s most cherished holiday traditions.

The event is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Zócalo Municipal, according to an announcement from the Ojinaga municipal government.

Rosca de Reyes, traditionally observed on January 6, commemorates the arrival of the Three Wise Men and is widely celebrated throughout Mexico and Mexican communities abroad. The circular sweet bread, often decorated with colorful candied fruit, symbolizes unity and the crown of the Magi.

The celebration is being organized under the municipal administration’s banner of “Unidad y Trabajo con Visión” (Unity and Work with Vision), part of Ojinaga’s 2024–2027 municipal government programming.

Officials describe the event as a family-friendly gathering intended to preserve cultural traditions and encourage community participation in the city’s central plaza.

The event is open to the public.
