Young readers are invited to build confidence and practice literacy skills during the Kids Reading to Dogs event at the Bush Family Home State Historic Site on January 24.
The free event will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and allows children to read aloud to adoptable dogs, creating a relaxed, judgment-free environment that encourages reading fluency and enjoyment. Participants may bring their own books or choose from selections provided onsite.
Programs like Kids Reading to Dogs are widely recognized for helping children improve reading confidence while fostering empathy and positive interactions with animals. The event also highlights adoptable dogs, helping connect them with potential families.
