Veterans Park Planned for Fort Stockton, Basketball Courts Set for 2026

The City of Fort Stockton announced plans for a new public space, Veterans Park, which will be built at the corner of El Paso Street and Front Street, directly across from the Catholic Cemetery.

According to the city’s Economic Development Department, the park will feature a new basketball court, updated landscaping, newly planted trees, and improved lighting. City officials said the project is part of a broader effort to expand parks and recreational amenities across all areas of Fort Stockton.

Construction is already underway, and officials expect the basketball courts to be ready for public use in January 2026.

City leaders described the park as an investment in both neighborhood quality of life and long-term community development, emphasizing the importance of accessible outdoor recreation for residents of all ages.
