The Alpine Bucks captured the United Supermarkets bracket championship at the Caprock Classic Basketball Tournament with a 64–61 victory over No. 4-ranked 1A Texline on Saturday in Lubbock.
Competing in the 3A division, Alpine secured the title after a closely contested game that remained tight through the final minutes. The win capped a strong tournament run for the Bucks against higher-ranked competition.
The Caprock Classic, held annually in Lubbock, draws teams from across Texas and the region and is considered an early-season test against diverse opponents and playing styles.
With the tournament championship, Alpine continues to build momentum heading into district play.
