Midland Chamber to Host 2026 “State of Oil & Gas” Featuring ConocoPhillips and API Leadership

The Midland Chamber of Commerce will host its annual State of Oil & Gas program on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, bringing together senior energy executives and national industry leadership for a high-level discussion on the future of oil and gas.

The event will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bush Convention Center and is presented by ConocoPhillips. Organizers say the program will focus on both macro- and micro-level trends shaping the energy sector, with a particular emphasis on the Permian Basin.

The program will open with a keynote address from Nick Olds, Executive Vice President of Lower 48 and Global Health, Safety and Environment at ConocoPhillips. Olds will be followed by a fireside discussion featuring Aaron Hunter, President of ConocoPhillips’ Permian operations.

The conversation will be facilitated by Mike Sommers, President and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, who is expected to provide national context on policy, production, and long-term industry outlooks.

According to the Midland Chamber, the State of Oil & Gas event regularly sells out and draws business leaders, elected officials, and energy professionals from across West Texas and beyond.

Registration for the event is limited and will close Wednesday, Jan. 14, at noon, or earlier if capacity is reached. Additional information and registration details are available at midland.biz/stateofoilandgas. Questions may also be directed to sarah@midland.biz.
