The Fort Davis High School Spanish classes and Spanish Club are inviting the community to celebrate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) with them on Wednesday, October 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the high school library.
The event will feature displays of student projects that explore the traditions and meaning behind Día de Muertos. Guests will also be treated to traditional Day of the Dead foods, prepared as part of the celebration.
Día de Muertos is a cherished cultural event that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed, blending pre-Hispanic customs with modern Mexican traditions through art, food, and community.
“We’re so proud of our students’ creativity and cultural engagement,” said Professor Martha Sanchez, who helped organize the event. “This is a beautiful opportunity to share and celebrate Mexican heritage together as a community.”
