Chinati Weekend 2025 Brings Art, Music, and Culture to Marfa

From October 10–12, the Chinati Foundation will host Chinati Weekend 2025, carrying forward the tradition Donald Judd began in 1987 of opening Marfa’s doors to the local community and visitors from around the world. The free, three-day celebration features open exhibitions, artist talks, performances, and special events, capped by the annual benefit dinner.

This year’s programming highlights the opening of two major exhibitions — Fred Sandback: Sculpture and Oscar Hagerman: Sillas de México — alongside new work by Artist in Residence Klara Lidén. Legendary jazz musician Roscoe Mitchell will also take the stage, adding a powerful musical component to the weekend.
