Odessa’s First Friday Movie Night to Feature Grease and Local Documentary

Odessa Arts is bringing the community together for a special First Friday Movie Night at The Ector Theatre on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. The evening will showcase a double feature, pairing the sing-along favorite Grease with The Blessed Corner, a short local documentary by filmmaker Abraham Franco. The film tells the story of Mr. Curtis, Odessa’s beloved school crossing guard, and his impact on the community.

Admission is just $5, or free with the donation of a jar of peanut butter to support the West Texas Food Bank’s annual Peanut Butter Drive. Donations can be brought directly to the theatre during the event.

“Come for the film, give back to your community, and celebrate the magic of the movies downtown,” Odessa Arts said in its announcement.
