Alpine Independent School District is encouraging all Fightin’ Buck families to complete a meal application, noting that the forms impact far more than free or reduced-price meals for students.
According to the district, applications affect multiple areas of school funding, including internet access, network services, and eligibility for discounts on programs such as the AES after-school program. Additional areas influenced include increased teacher incentive allotments, grant eligibility, and metrics tied to the state accountability system, which uses socioeconomic rates.
The district emphasized that filling out the applications helps increase funding to provide more opportunities and services for students, including free or reduced-price meals.
